They're just average Americans but we call them heroes.  

They've answered the call to service in one of the five branches of the US Military. They're from all walks of life, all races, creeds, natural born Americans, and those who chose our nation as their home.

 And they answered a call that often places them far away and in great danger. But one thing they have in common... they have served all of us with their dedication, energy, and willingness to put their lives on hold while doing so.

 They are the active members and veterans of the United States Armed Forces. They are Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and the Coast Guard.  They are American's. They are heroes.

As they have served us so well, we, at the HERO program now serve them.
