Services
The HERO Program offers licensed mental health and substance abuse treatment designed specifically for military service members and veterans. Our licensed clinicians specialize in trauma-focused, evidence-based care for individuals experiencing mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders related to military service and combat.
Our treatment includes:
• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
• Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
• 12-Step Facilitation (TSF)
• Specific therapies for individual needs
• Brain Spotting
We treat with a holistic approach in a safe and secure environment. We acknowledge that each veteran/service member has their own aspiration for treatment outcomes and hope to help realize the goals associated with the above.
HERO Program puts the veteran's care as number one on its list of priorities. We believe in order to remain a distinguished entity in behavioral health care, we must be diligent in striving to improve our services and expanding out dimensions in order to restore dignity in the lives of our clients and instill in them the skills to maintain lasting recovery and return to meaningful lives.
Therapeutic Outings
Therapeutic outings are essential for re-entry into family, military duty and your community. Outings are developed for promotion of recovery. Participation in outings is determined by your participation in ALL activities.

This phase is 12-Step curriculum focused and will study Recovery steps one through three (Overcoming Denial, Exploring Spirituality, and Surrender). The veterans will identify any possible areas of trauma and begin working with a qualified trauma therapist on a case-by-case evaluation. The veterans will also obtain a sponsor and schedule a face-to- face meeting with him/her.

When transitioning into Partial (Phase 2), clients do not leave out of current facility. They remain with a continuum of therapeutic services from a clinical team and a peer support system with whom they have been building a foundation for their recovery. The veterans will have living accommodations with separate housing from Phase 1. Clients in this phase will have a 6-day a week curriculum that will consist of groups, individual sessions, as well as continue with any trauma therapies they started in Phase 1.
Veterans will also build life skills in this phase as they learn to create budgets and put that skill set into everyday life. The SUD curriculum will be focused on building an individual program of recovery with a sponsor, becoming better integrated into recovery community, and preparation for independent sober living. This will help in developing a solid social support system, practicing real life skills to cope with stressors by reaching out to peers and assisting each other in finding solutions rather than depending on their primary counselor . This phase includes mandatory meetings with sponsors and attending meetings. Veterans will also conduct their own house meetings so that they will know how to continue this when they go to sober living in the next phase.
Phase 2 Incentives
-Extended phone times
-Off-site pass
-Weekly shopping trip
-Weekly volunteering with Animal Aid
-Weekly church services
-Extracurricular group outings -
